Cairo is a huge city filled with buildings of all ages. The traffic is horrendous and the drivers don't appear to follow any particular set of rules; they just lean on the horn every time they overtake another vehicle or pedestrians. Horns are honking everywhere day and night.

In Cairo, we visited the "Hanging Church" which dates back to around 600 A.D. The name derives from the fact the church was built over an arched passage of a Babylonian fortress. I felt so lucky to be able to capture this delightful ray of sunlight. |

Cairo is filled with stores which are stuffed with tourist kitch. This store near the "Hanging Church" seemed to have better quality to offer than most. |

The sound and light show was not quite up to our standards, but it was still impressive and fun. It was very cold that evening but none of us would have missed the experience. |

I am amazed that these photos turned out at all! Eventhough we as people can easy see the lights very well in the darkness, cameras usually don't see much of anything. I wondered if those people who were taking flash pictures really expected to have them turn out. |
