Aswan

Aswan has developed into a bustling, industrious city which quite a bit of charm. The building and maintenance of the Aswan High Dam nearby provides jobs for those who live in and around Aswan.

Spices are sold in all markets but most were not as colorful as this one. The dark material in the baskets are dried hybiscus flowers to make tea. And it is really delicious tea, too!

This delightful wall illustrated ancient fraud and medical malpractice. Here the ailing patient would come, paying money to the gods, and he would recite his ailments to the statue which once stood in the niche. The god responded, via the voice of a priest on the other side of the wall!. We can assume that the advice was in proportion to the donation.
